  • Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Master’s degree in energy, technology, climate change, or related policy domains.

Skill Set

  • Proficiency in understanding biomass and energy/fuel policies and regulations.
  • Strong ability to develop recommendations in energy and carbon policy and regulation.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.

Duration

3–6 months (full-time internship)

Job

Senior Associate

We are looking for a Senior Associate to lead network modelling and studies that enable transmission planning and renewable energy integration in India’s evolving power system. The role involves using advanced tools such as PSSE and DIgSILENT PowerFactory to conduct load flow and grid stability studies under various scenarios, contributing to the development of a reliable, efficient, and future-ready transmission network.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate PSSE and DIgSILENT PowerFactory models for existing and planned transmission systems.
  • Assess renewable energy and energy storage integration under diverse demand–generation scenarios.
  • Identify least-cost network strengthening and expansion measures to enable reliable and efficient grid integration.
  • Lead grid stability and flexibility assessments, accounting for emerging technologies such as electric vehicles (EVs), green hydrogen, and rooftop solar photovoltaics.
  • Conduct reactive power and voltage stability analyses to ensure system reliability and regulatory compliance.
  • Integrate policy and regulatory targets into analytical frameworks and scenario development.
  • Collaborate with transmission utilities, system operators, and regulatory bodies on planning and operational studies.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and study findings for stakeholder consultations and project dissemination.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, energy systems, or Master’s degree in power systems, energy modelling, or operations research (preferred), with 5–8 years of experience in power system modelling and transmission planning.

Skill Set

  • Strong experience in transmission system planning and grid integration studies.
  • Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as PSSE, MiPower, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
  • Demonstrated ability in data management, scenario modelling, and power system simulations.
  • Expertise in assessing reactive power margins, voltage stability, and system reliability.
  • Sound knowledge of grid codes, CEA standards, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies, including energy storage, green hydrogen, EVs, and distributed generation.
  • Proven ability to integrate policy and regulatory targets into transmission planning models and analyses.
